2nd Place for Nick in chess this morning!

Before you panic...

this is not as bad as it looks.  This is a picture of Nick's leg, the price he had to pay for being a Super Star for 2 days.  This is what his leg looked like after the make-up artists had taken all of their hard work off of his legs.  For those of you who have not heard, Nick is up for a photo double part in an upcoming Disney movie titled "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" which is being filmed here in Atlanta.  We were on set last Wednesday and Thursday, during the ice storm, so that they could practice their special effects on Nick's lower legs.  He had leaves growing out of his skin and they air brushed green veins on his legs and attached rope with glue to make it look like veins.  A very cool affect...I was not allowed to take pictures of the finished product, only the after effects.  We will find out next week if he definitely has the part.  We will keep you all posted.

These are the artists that worked on Nick's legs.  Super nice guys!

Snow Week

Last weekend, we were all paying attention to the weather forecast, or more importantly, school closings.  In case you had not heard, Atlanta was supposed to get a major snow storm on Sunday night...6-10 inches. By Sunday afternoon every county around us had canceled school for Monday, but not Fulton, and there was not a snowflake to be seen.  6:00p.m....nothing.  8:00p.m....snow and no cancellation.
10:00p.m.....FINALLY!  By now we have a couple of inches on the ground.  We spent most of Monday outside playing.  Come Tuesday, the kids were tired of it and it had started to turn to ice.  It continued this way till the end of the week.  Needless to say it was a LONG week.  Here's some of the pictures of the kids.

WHEW!

Well, I finally did it...I started a blog.  I had been toying with the idea for almost a year now and I finally sat down and started one....3 days ago!  Yes, that is how long it took me to figure out how to make it cute!  I have learned more about encoding text in HTML than I care to share with you, although Chris was mighty impressed.  My hopes for this blog is to share our daily, most likely, weekly life with you.  We live such a crazy ,busy life, just like most people, and it feels like we never get to share any of it with our family or friends.  Hopefully this will be a great way for each of you to catch up with our family.  Welcome to our world!
